Paddy Purchase Ledger (Agent-wise)
When paddy comes through an arhtiya, one weight slip turns into several numbers before anyone is paid: the weight cut on the kanta quantity, the amount on the net quintals, cash discount, aarhat, any cut for quality or shortage, and the agent’s dalali. This ledger keeps one file per agent and one row per weight slip, works each of those out, and follows payments against every lot, so the balance owed to each farmer or firm is always one lookup away.

What it does
The Summary tab holds the agent’s terms once: the agent’s name, a default CD %, a default dalali in rupees per net quintal, a default aarhat as a percentage or as rupees per quintal, and the weight cut in kilograms per quintal (1 kg by default, 0 for none). Paddy Register then takes one row per weight slip — date, slip number, farmer or firm, variety, kanta quantity and rate — and fills in the weight cut rounded to the kilogram, net quintals, amount, CD, aarhat, net payable and dalali; any lot can override the defaults, and a money cut for a quality claim or shortage goes in its own column. Payments are typed against the lot as they are made, and balance and status follow. Summary totals everything the agent has sent — net quintals, paddy value, net payable, paid, balance due, weight cut, CD plus cut and dalali — splits net quintals and value by variety with the average rate, finds any lot from its slip number, and lists every farmer or firm with what is still owed. Farmer Ledger shows one farmer’s or firm’s lots, payments and balance.

Example workflow
The EXAMPLE file is one demo agent’s account with a sample mill in September 2026: 1% CD, ₹10 dalali per net quintal, no default aarhat and a 1 kg weight cut per quintal. Slip 1049, dated 21 September, is 96.40 quintals of 1121 Basmati from a demo firm at ₹3,650; the file cuts 96 kg and pays on 95.44 quintals. Across all the slips the agent has sent 648.70 net quintals worth ₹18,33,204 after 655 kg of weight cut; after CD and cuts of ₹13,390 the net payable is ₹18,19,814, of which ₹4,50,064 has been paid and ₹13,69,750 is still due, and the agent’s dalali comes to ₹6,536. The by-variety table keeps the rates apart: PR-126 averaged ₹2,305.61 a quintal and 1121 Basmati ₹3,650, which is why the overall average of ₹2,825.97 says little about any one purchase.
