Accessibility Statement
Last updated:
This site is built to be usable by as many people as possible, including those who rely on assistive technology. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as a practical standard, and we treat accessibility as an ongoing effort rather than a one-time checkbox.
What we do
- Semantic structure. Pages use proper headings, landmarks, lists, and tables so screen readers can navigate content in a logical order.
- Keyboard navigation. All interactive elements — links, buttons, the search, calculators, and the menu — can be reached and operated with a keyboard. A “Skip to main content” link appears when you start tabbing.
- Visible focus. Focused elements have a clear outline so keyboard users can always see where they are.
- Readable contrast. Text and interface colours are chosen for legible contrast in both light and dark themes, which you can switch in the sidebar.
- Responsive, zoom-friendly layout. Content reflows cleanly on mobile and when the page is zoomed up to 200%, with tap targets sized for touch.
- Descriptive links and labels. Form fields are labelled, images carry alt text, and links describe their destination rather than saying “click here”.
- Live calculator results. Calculator outputs update in an ARIA live region so screen-reader users hear results as inputs change.
Known limitations
Some areas may not yet be fully optimised. Complex data tables can be wide on small screens (they scroll horizontally), and a few older articles may contain formatting we are still refining. We are working through these as part of routine maintenance.
Reporting a problem
If you encounter a barrier or have a suggestion, please tell us — your feedback directly improves the site. Email [email protected] with the page address and a short description of the issue, and we will aim to respond and fix it promptly.
Ongoing commitment
Accessibility is reviewed when we ship new features and audited periodically. This statement will be updated as the site evolves.
